Training class day 3

Last night was great! Missy was much less nervous this time. She really wants to play with the other dogs but she did so good last night. We did heel for the first time and she did so well the instructor said so!!!! Missy got compliments all night on how well she is doing. We are very proud parents!!!!!!!!!!!! Right now her and my husband are working on heel, sit and stay, and down.

So we found the missing tube of medicine that we thought Reba ate which is good news..but now we don't know what made her sick. Here are some pics from the weekend.....

Sick puppy

Reba has had a tough week but is getting better. She got really sick Sunday night and then again Monday so Tuesday morning I took her to the vet. We now think it's possible she got a hold of some over the counter medicine that was on our bathroom sink. I honestly didn't think she would grab stuff from there but the medicine is missing and has been since Sunday morning. So at a year old we still have to be very careful with what we leave out because she still has a lot of puppy in her. She is on medicine and a special diet and will be fine. That $4 medicine ended up costing us a lot more!!!!!!!!!!!! But we are thankful Reba is okay.

Side note-Reba is on a special diet eating wet food. We never feed them that but by Lola's reaction we are guessing she has had it before. She goes NUTS! She has to to check out Angel and Missy's food to make sure they are eating dry food before she will eat hers.

Training class day 2

Last night was our second day of class but the first one with Missy. We are in the smaller class. We have a Doberman Pincher, German Shepard, Cocker Spaniel, Golden Retriever, some large black dog with a bow in it's hair and the cutest Boxer puppy. The class went well, Missy was very nervous but settled down almost at the end. We hope next week she will not be as nervous and and focus more. We have a ton of daily homework to do with her until next class. We are practicing leash walking, sit and stay and come. Wish us luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Training day 1

Last night was the first night of training and it was a 2 hour orientation with only the pet owners. It went well-we left with 6 pages of notes, a work book and daily homework. We really like the trainer and learned that we are trained..meaning our dogs have us trained to do what they want when it should be the other way around. The line that stuck out to me was when the trainer said "your dogs are not little people in fur coats". I guess we kinda do treat them like that. I wonder what the trainer would say if she saw the tiny recliner that Lola got for Christmas???

Excited but nervous

Some of you know that we have had some issues with Missy. In all fairness some it is due to lack of exercise. Being a Jack Russell she has a ton of energy. We can't leave her in the yard during the day because she gets cold so she sleeps all day. We try very hard to walk them at night but due to it getting dark early and our work schedules it is not always possible. Right now her aggression is mainly towards Angel. So tomorrow we start training classes!!!!!!!!! I think it will be a good thing for her but also for us. We have a two hour orientation tomorrow then the fun starts next week with the dogs. I waiting to see how many more Jack Russells are in the class! If this doesn't work I am calling a pet pyshic. Giving her away is not an option so we have to make it work. Wish us luck.

Friday

Meet Friday. She was named that because well..she was found on a Friday. She is a really sweet girl and lives with my father in law and her sister Kristen. She is almost as spoiled as Kristen but not that bad yet. Christmas Eve we all opened presents and hung out-those two started pouting really bad so we pulled out some treats. She has beautiful brown eyes and loves to be loved on. Her and Kristen get along well but neither one of them really want any other dogs coming over. Brats!!! She looks identical to another dog we have Lily. I will try to post pics of her soon.

Meet Prissy and Blackie

These two belong to my Father in law-Prissy is the grey fluffy kitty and Blackie is the black one or Bullet's good twin. They are both really sweet cats. Prissy is very friendly where Blackie is more shy. Only recently have I even really seen him because he usually runs and hides when I come over. Prissy has more hair than I have ever seen on a cat!!! Blackie's eyes change colors during Halloween-pretty crazy. When Missy lived there she used to love both of them and give them baths. Now she lives with Bullet and he is not having it!
