Grandma came by last night and got to see all the babies. Can you tell she is a tad uncomfortable with the horses? Meanwhile Jack is looking at her like "dang just pet me or give me a treat already Grandma."

I had some work to do this weekend and Lola helped me. I think someone must of been shooting because she ran up there and wouldn't budge. Gunshots and thunder terrify her. Thank goodness she does this and not Reba.

Need a work out???

I found a really great site that lets me keep up with what I eat and my exercise. There are a great bunch of folks on there. I see a lot of people post they don't have a work out buddy. Well-how about volunteering at your local animal shelter? You can walk the dogs and have a workout buddy instantly. It really is a win win-you get exercise and the dogs get out for their exercise. They are more likely to be adopted if they get out some and get socialized and don't have all of that energy stored up.So think about it-even just one or two days a month. You could make a big difference in the lives of shelter dogs and get a workout.

Snoozing

It was a beautiful weekend and the dogs played outside a lot. By Sunday they were worn out. Here are some pictures of them snoozing, together. It is hard to see but Angel is sleeping by the door. Missy noticed me taking pictures and got up so she isn't in the third one. She got and moved over and went back to sleep. I don't think she wants any evidence that she really does love her sisters.

Exploring

We separated Lucky and Sadie so he will stop nursing and so she can get fixed soon. So Lucky is hanging out with my father in law and his two dogs Kristen and Friday. Friday really seems to like him, Kristen doesn't really  have an opinion. She is ok as long as he doesn't bother her. My father in law has his hands full! Last night we had thunderstorms. Lightning hit really close and was really loud-when one hit Kristen and Friday jumped on my father in law's lap and Lucky jumped and sat on his feet. He was a puppy magnet! Lucky 6 weeks

Such a cutie!!!!!!!!!! Our vet said we could try dog food now. He said to get it wet and mushy and that puppies will walk in it and then lick it off their feet and then start eating it gradually. Not Lucky, he ate it like he has been doing it his whole life. One thing he excels at is eating!

My mom's furkids

I get my love of animals from my mom. There are days I think she likes them better than us. She has always loved animals and growing up we had dogs and cats. Currently she has three dogs and a cat. Shelby is a black lab that was found in her neighborhood. We kept her and tried to find her owner. Turns out she was being fostered by a woman in the neighborhood next to us and had gotten loose. She can get off a leash in a quickness. We found out that she had originally been found on a very busy expressway and taken to the local shelter. Mom adopted her about 7 years ago. She had been abused, we think by a man. The vet found a lot of signs pointing to that including scars in her ears. It took her a long time to warm up to my Step dad and brother but she is great now. She is very mellow and doesn't bark but is terrified of thunderstorms. She will sit on your head and pant during  them...all 65 lbs of her.

Then their is Angel, who is a lab mix and 14 years old. She was my dad's dog but he couldn't take care of her so my mom took her. She is deaf and has trouble eating so she only eats wet food. I had gotten her sister Moo when they were puppies and mom kept Moo for me when I moved. Moo passed away last year but Angel seems to be holding her own.

Then my mom has the two nut balls-Major Tom and Zip. We have no idea what Major Tom is-but he is cute. My Uncle found him under a car when he was a baby. He loves his house and Shelby but freaks out when you take him out of his comfort zone. And he likes Zip the cat but has gotten rough with her in past so they have to watch him. Anytime people come over he run and hides. Then makes this noise that sounds like a rooster. He has some social issues.

Zip-my other Uncle brought her to my mom. I love animals but that cat and I don't get along. She attacks me and my dog. I get really nervous when she is around because she will attack me for no reason. My parents think it is funny.

Angel

Angel loves sitting in the sun. I can tell she is started to get older, and we don't know for sure how old she is but I really hope she is with us a lot longer. Nothing major so far but she is getting grumpy and losing a little weight. Overall though she is doing well. Thank goodness she is the only baby we have with all this hair!



Lucky-5 weeks

He is getting so big!!!!!!!! All he wants to do is play and eat, eat and play.
