Graduation!!!!!!

Well she did it! Missy graduated last night from her training class. She aced her test. Very proud of her and my husband for working with her these 7 weeks. And a big shout out to the Georgia Dog Gym. Love that place!

Reba is still a big puppy at 13 months old. But she has calmed down a lot. In the mornings she is content to sleep on the couch and snuggle.

Training day 6

Last night was good and bad. Good-Missy did great with the exercises we did in class. We were worried because we haven't been able to work with her much the last week with all the crazy stuff going on. But I was so proud of her. The trainer asked the dogs to come out in the middle and us to ask them to lay down and stay and then walk back from them. Then the trainer walked around the room to see if they would get up. The first time Missy got up but then after that she stayed.

Bad-towards the end of the night the trainer was talking to my husband and Missy was on his lap growling at another dog. The trainer was like ???? She told my husband to get her off his lap asap because sitting on his lap is a privilege and should be taken away when she acts like that.

Next week is our last day and graduation, fingers crossed!

Work with mommy

Lola tore a nail this weekend, we think when she was climbing the baby gate into our guest room to go see Bullet. It was really hurting her so we went to the vet yesterday. As much as I love our Vet, really tired of seeing him. I have seen in more in two weeks than I did in 6 months last year. But he got the nail off and she came to work with me. I like having her there but she takes up my whole chair! This is her attempting to share my chair with me.

When I got home Friday this is what I found....

Poor Savannah. We got the vet out Saturday and somehow she had scratched her eye. He gave her medicine and within hours the swelling had gone done a lot. I have medincine to give her daily and she is much better.

Training class day 5

Since I was really sick I didn't go to the class this week. But Missy is doing well. Only two more weeks and then she has a graduation test. We have a lot of work before then but if she passes we will have a party!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recovering

Everyone is doing better. Lola has decided she wants to stay on the heating pad all day, everyday.

ER visit

What a week...........last night when I got home Lola was very sick. Same symptoms Angel and Reba had. I rushed to the ER vet. She had a very low temperature which really worried the vet and me. He gave her fluids and a shot. Then we had her on a heating pad all night. I was really scared she wouldn't make it. Being so little it hit her really hard. I took her to our Vet this morning and she is much better and on medicine. Our Vet thinks they got into something in our backyard. It could be something like they ate rabbit poop. We watch them but you can't control everything. But we are going to try to fix our fence so the rabbits can't get in there. Seriously, I am going to ask my boss to make my checks out to the Vet. Cause one whole check was spent in a week.

We learned our ER vet will more than likely close. They just aren't doing enough business because people can't afford it with the economy the way it is. I hate that, I love that place. I hate going but know if I have to that our babies will be taken care of.

Training class day 4

Class went great, Missy is doing really well. And things at home have improved. She listens a lot better and the aggressiveness, especially towards Angel, has decreased. Training classes are worth every penny!!

Long week....

This week started off with a big surprise. I am very upset with myself about this. We found Sadie, or really she found us, a few months ago when she jumped into my truck in our driveway. We have been planning on getting her fixed but to be honest we just didn't have the money. I should of done a lot of things differently but I didn't so here we go......although she is in a fenced in yard our neighbor's dogs run loose. Sunday when we went to feed her we found 6 puppies. Because she is soooooo hairy we didn't know she was pregnant. Yet again, very upset at myself for this. She had them over night Saturday and 3 didn't make it. She really didn't know what to do and wasn't staying with them or nursing. We brought her and the other 3 to our basement to see if she would take care of them. We then decided to bring them upstairs to try to get them warm. One passed in my father in law's arms. The other two were put on blankets and a heating pad in our office. Lola took over-she kept them warm and all the other stuff mommas do except nurse. And she would of done that if she could of. We are so amazed and proud of Lola. I spent Sunday night and all day Monday  bottle feeding them. Monday we moved Sadie and the two pups to my father in laws so we could keep them warm and she would take care of them without distractions. She really started doing a great job nursing them.

But yesterday the black and white one started going downhill. He was taken to the vet and my father in law was feeding him every 3 hours. He took great care of him but we lost him last night. On top of all of this, Angel has been very sick and spent yesterday at the vet as well. She is doing better now but we are all heart broken about the puppies. I can't go back and redo anything but as soon as Sadie can be taken to get spayed she is. It was my responsibility to get this handled and I feel like I really dropped the ball. I get so mad at people who don't take care of their animals and I let Sadie down.
